United States

Thank G-d we have not had to suspend operations at any point in time during the coronavirus crisis. As part of our efforts to provide detailed information and transparency, this page is updated at least once a week.

Last updated: Tues., 16 Kislev (2 Dec.)

The nationwide lock-down is easing, and in general is not having a significant impact on our staffing or order fulfillment.

Shipping times are affected differently for each of the three shipping options we offer:

First Class - First Class is sent via Israel Post, and is then handled by the national postal company in each respective destination country (e.g. USPS, Canada Post, La Poste, Deutche Post, PostNL, Royal Mail, etc.). Shipping times appear to have improved considerably, and are almost back to normal. In rare cases we've seen extended, unexplained delays. Shipping to the US addresses has been under two weeks over the past month.

However, note that USPS experiences slowdowns with a significant portion of shipments during the month of December every year, and this year could potentially be worse than usual.

DHL eCommerce - DHL eCommerce is sent via an Israeli shipping company to an importer in New York, then is handled by DHL eCommerce before being handed off to USPS for "last-mile delivery." Total shipping time is typically 7-10 days, and because the shipping company has a special arrangement with United Airlines cargo services, the shipping time is rarely impacted. Note: This shipping option is only available to the US and Canada.

DHL Express - Since DHL Express uses its own fleet of cargo planes, shipping times (2-4 business days to most locations) are not affected.

» Order Fulfillment - We normally process and dispatch orders within 3-5 business days.
» Customs - US does not levy taxes or duties on Judaica products from Israel.
» Deadline - If you have a specific deadline or target date (e.g. bar mitzvah, wedding), please note this during checkout so that we can make every effort to get your order to you on time.

First Class Shipping
One or two days after your order was shipped you should have received an automated message with your tracking number, which starts LX and ends IL (e.g. LX403074476IL). We use Israel Post's ECO Post service for most First Class shipments. The packages is flown to the International Sorting Centers in New York or Los Angeles, and after processing, gets shipped to the final destination by USPS.

Note: During the first few days Israel Post generally provides the best tracking data, then once the package is processed at the International Sorting Center in New York or Los Angeles, USPS Tracking often lists more detailed information.
Tip: Instead of going to USPS Tracking several times, when you first check the tracking, look for the Text & Email Updates drop-down, and enter your name and email address or cell-phone number.

DHL eCommerce Shipping
DHL eCommerce is similar to USPS' First Class service, but is a bit more consistent, more reliable, faster and offers better tracking. Shipping is often more efficient because it bypasses the international sorting centers in the US. Last-mile delivery is handled by USPS, meaning DHL moves the package quickly through the US, and then relies on USPS to get the package from the local post office to your doorstep.

Tip: Instead of going to DHL eCommerce Tracking several times, when you first check the tracking, look for the orange Receive Status Updates button, and enter your email address.

DHL Express
DHL Express shipping is handled by DHL Express couriers from start to finish. Shortly after it ships you can expect to receive an automated email message with a 10-digit tracking number. Typical shipping time is two days, and shipping to the New York area can be as little as one day.

DHL Express Tracking>>

Note: Our DHL Express shipping option is two-day courier service, but leave three business days, to be safe. Also, keep in mind that in Israel DHL does not provide pick-up service on Fridays and does not operate flights out of Israel on Sundays, which means if the shipment does not leave our office by Thursday morning, it could run into a long weekend. If the delivery date is critical, be sure to check with us regarding fulfillment time before you place the order. Sometimes we can get orders out within one or two days, but not always.

General Tips: Whichever shipping option you choose, it's generally advisable, when possible, to use an address where someone is on hand during daytime hours, such as a work address. And if you have a critical target date (wedding, bar mitzvah, etc.), mention that in the comments field.
