Shipping in the coronavirus era: With Israel in the COVID exit phase and the US headed in that direction, much of our shipping is now back to normal. However, in various countries (e.g. Canada) shipping remains slower than pre-coronavirus norms.
First Class - First Class is sent via DHL eCommerce. In order to bypass the International Sorting Center in New York, mail sacks are sent to via an Israeli shipping company to an importer in Inwood, New York, then the parcels are moved quickly toward their destination by DHL eCommerce and then are handed off to USPS for "last-mile delivery."
DHL Express - Since DHL Express uses its own fleet of cargo planes, shipping times (2-3 business days to most locations) are almost never affected.
» Order Fulfillment - We normally process and dispatch orders within 3-5 business days.
» Customs - US does not levy taxes or duties on Judaica products from Israel.
» Deadline - If you have a specific deadline or target date (e.g. bar mitzvah, wedding), please note this during checkout so that we can make every effort to get your order to you on time.

How to Track your Order
First Class via DHL eCommerce Shipping
Shipping via DHL eCommerce is often more efficient than standard international First Class because it bypasses the international sorting centers in the US. Last-mile delivery is handled by USPS, meaning DHL moves the package quickly through the US, and then relies on USPS to get the package from the local post office to your doorstep.
One or two days after your order was shipped you should have received an automated message with your tracking number, which consists of a long series of digits (no longs).
Tip: Instead of going to DHL eCommerce Tracking several times, when you first check the tracking, look for the orange Receive Status Updates button, and enter your email address.
Note: The mail sack is not opened from the time it leaves our office until it arrives at the distribution center in Avenel, New Jersey. Because this is the first point at which your package gets scanned, it typically takes at least 5-6 days until you start to see relevant tracking data.
DHL Express shipping is handled by DHL Express couriers from start to finish. Shortly after it ships you can expect to receive an automated email message with a 10-digit tracking number. Typical shipping time is two days, and shipping to the New York area can be as little as one day.
Note: Our DHL Express shipping option is two-day courier service, but leave three business days, to be safe. Also, keep in mind that in Israel DHL does not provide pick-up service on Fridays and does not operate flights out of Israel on Sundays, which means if the shipment does not leave our office by Thursday morning, it could run into a long weekend. If the delivery date is critical, be sure to check with us regarding fulfillment time before you place the order. Sometimes we can get orders out within one or two days, but not always.
General Tips: Whichever shipping option you choose, it's generally advisable, when possible, to use an address where someone is on hand during daytime hours, such as a work address. And if you have a critical target date (wedding, bar mitzvah, etc.), mention that in the comments field.
